Five months! It’s been five months since I have done a single pull-up since injuring my arm. I finally gave some chin-ups a try and was super happy that they didn’t cause any pain! Limited myself to a few sets of three to see how I felt the next day😜
Also working on the support hold at the top of the dips, finally able to turn rings out a little, definite progress from a month ago👍
Slow and steady is the way to approach fitness. Every time I try to rush things I get injured. And without consistency there is nothing!
I was so happy to do a chin-up, I flipped🙃

Foam rolling is a great way to release tension, knots, and soreness before and after a workout. I highly recommend adding in a short foam rolling session into your daily routine, especially if you have a lot of aches and pains like me.

✨So here's the run down on what I'm doing...
First I am starting with the lower half of my body and working up. Now you might be asking why I'm foam rolling my legs if I am trying to help my back pain. Well when your back is tight, your body is going to compensate for the lack of movement and stability. Therefore, the surrounding muscles are most likely going to be tight too! It's important to always stretch and foam roll it all. .

Foam rolling can have a huge impact on performance and that's why when I was a college athlete, it was a requirement that we foam rolled after our training sessions. Literally, there would be a trainer standing there making sure we foam rolled lol! --------------------------------------------------- ---------
✨Take your time foam rolling and learn to listen to your body! On those really tender spots, hold for about 20 seconds before moving on

As I work on my #path2me, I’m finding that I feel like my workouts always need to be that long drawn out or intense process. With my busy schedule, I’m only working out like twice a week because of that! That is NOT going to work 😉 If I wait around for when I have a good solid hour to myself, I’m going to continue to find that I won’t be working out near enough. .
